Ledger forcing users to upgrade to Nano X? – Nano S cannot hold even three applications
Ledger makes one of the best cryptocurrency hardware wallets out there. Lately, it has come into fire for indirectly forcing its users to upgrade to the latest and greatest Ledger Nano X. This one can store many more applications than the Nano S.
May be it is the bear market or tough competition, but it appears that Ledger wants to increase their sales and one reddit post points out that the Ledger Nano S with current firmware v1.5.5 cannot even hold bitcoin, ethereum and ripple at same time.
Ledger team, straight away denies our theory though. They said this when addressing this issue.
When planning for this update we didn’t anticipate the impact it would have on Ledger Nano S capacity. This was not planned obsolescence, simply put, we messed up. We apologize and we’re committed to making it right.
So until an update is pushed for the Ledger Nano S users, we request users not to store more than two cryptocurrency applications because apparently, Ledger’s team did not test multiple wallets.
We also suggest users not to update to latest software until a fix is rolled out.
