Bytecoin team adds support for Ledger and Trezor
If you are user of hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor, you will be glad to know that the Bytecoin team has started enabling full scale support for them. Getting supported on Ledger and Trezor is a part of Bytecoin’s plan for ensuring high security of its community and dealing with emerging threats to the cryptocurrency space. For those who don’t know, Bytecoin’s team is working with the hardware wallets to add support for BCN.
For making Bytecoin, a total privacy coin, support Ledger and Trezor, BCN developers had to adapt existing wallet structure to standard of these hardware wallets. It also involves process of reserving position in the hierarchy to allow for cold storage of Bytecoin funds.
Once this incorporation is done, Bytecoin users will be able to safeguard themselves from long reach of cyber criminals.
Right now, hardware wallet support is only available in Stagenet and will only be made available after further development. Once this is done, a more stable release featuring better support will be made available to public.
Bytecoin’s latest desktop software, Amethyst already patches several security breaches and can be downloaded from official website https://bytecoin.org/downloads.
Jenny Goldberg, Bytecoin’s CMO, had this to add,
“Hardware wallet support is something we have worked hard on, and we hope the community is pleased with what we have accomplished so far. Security is only getting more important as the industry continues to develop and we hope that our progress here will serve as a stepping stone towards further bolstering the safety of the Bytecoin community.”
