Tezos Foundation has announced that it will be implementing KYC/AML checks for all of its investors. They have asked the users to visit verification.tezos.com and enter KYC information. A year ago when they did an ICO literally no one was doing KYC checks, the landscape changed a lot in recent months. If you’ve been following ICOs you know that any ICO working with MME Switzerland requires full KYC and they formed the Tezos Foundation. The KYC check now might seem odd since it’s a year after the ICO, the fact is that most other ICOs were just handing out ERC20 tokens so they didn’t need to build a working project yet before they could do the distribution. That’s what makes this situation different.
One of the best things about decentralized blockchains like bitcoin, ethereum and ethereum classic is that anyone can perform a hard fork and make a new coin. Ethereum Emerald is going to do a hard fork on 13th of July 2018.

This has already led to 40 percent dump today.

Retail investors can now buy the Ethereum Classic Investment Trust which means Ethereum Classic (ETC) can now be bought as an ETN (ticker ETCG), similar to way you can buy bitcoin thru GBTC. It looks like premium is 30-40% over current price of Ethereum Classic. This and GBTC are the only two publicly traded vehicles in cryptocurrency like this. Year from now who knows, how many cryptocurrencies will be available on OTC marketplace (OTCQX).

Ethereum Classic is going to hard fork, again. However, this time, there will be no airdrops and so no free coins. This update is going to deal with the difficulty bomb that is set to make the ethereum classic mining non profitable. Removing the difficulty bomb will ensure that ETC is still profitable to mine. This will help keep the network strong as well.
