IoTeX private key hacked, millions lost
This is incredibly frustrating. The private key of IoTeX has been hacked and thousands of users trusted this project, and right now the communication feels evasive.
IoTeX’ private key may have been compromised, resulting in its token safe being drained with a total loss of approximately $8.8 million.
IoTeX has officially responded, confirming the breach but stating that initial estimates indicate the potential loss is significantly lower than circulating rumors. IoTeX has coordinated with major exchanges and partners to actively trace and freeze the hacker’s assets, and will provide further updates to the community.

People, especially IoTeX users deserve clear numbers, full transparency, and an independent report — not vague reassurances. Back in 2021, everybody thought IoTeX is going to be huge. The company promised that they will switch to native IoTeX on coinbase but that never happened.
It is sad to see IoTeX going down so bad as many had immense faith in the team. The token keeps getting dumped on Coinbase then back up doesn’t seem right. These things shouldn’t and can’t happen. They destroy the confidence of any serious investor.
