Jaguar Land Rover partners with IOTA Foundation to integrate Smart Wallets into cars

JLR has partnered with IOTA foundation to integrate Smart Wallet into their cars. The UK drivers will be able to earn IOTA cryptocurrency and make payments on the move using IOTA’s smart wallet technology.

Owners earn credits by allowing their car to send data like road condition like potholes and traffic congestion to navigation providers and local authorities. These rewards can then be redeemed for coffee, parking fees and pay tolls and so on.

If you own an electric vehicle, you can even use it for charging vehicles.

It is also totally possible to top up your wallet using the typical conventional payment methods.

Keep note that the tech is still in test phase and is being tested on Jaguar F-PACE and Range Rover Velar. So it may take sometime for this technology to become available to everyone.
