Bytecoin Hard Fork 2019–how to prepare for upcoming hard fork of Bytecoin
Bytecoin team will be doing a hard fork at block 1792117 on Friday, 17th May 2019, four days from now. If you are storing coins on Bytecoin wallet, you must upgrade to v3.4.2 to ensure you are on correct blockchain. Otherwise, you will be at risk of loosing your funds.
However, if you are storing BCN a third party Bytecoin wallet or exchange, you do not need to do anything. Supported exchanges are Poloniex, Stex, HitBTC, Freewallet, EOBOT, TradeOgre and Crex24.
A number of upgrades and new features will be introduced in this update that include the following:
* HD wallets with mnemonic backup and restore;
* new unlinkable addresses;
* blocksize adaptation;
* reduced ring signature size;
* consensus updates;
* wallet history stored in the blockchain;
* improved P2P protocol;
* auditable wallets.

The hard fork also allows for both old and new address formats to work. It is even possible to transfer BCN between old and new addresses without any issue. Also, maximum coin supply is not modified.
