Binance Chain Mainnet hardfork for Nightingale update
Binance Chain will be doing a hard fork at block height 99,550,000 to do the Nightingale update. This is expected to be around 9th July 2020 at 5AM UTC. Binance Chain Mainnet Nightingale upgrade will bring support for new BEP8 mini tokens with low issue and list fees. Direct pathway to for BEP2 / BUSD DEX (decentralized exchange) listing will go live with this update.
Binance Chain Mainnet Nightingale, as explained here, will also add 30 day expiry option on the Binance DEX. You will be able to use bnbcli to issue, transfer, mint and list BEP8 assets. And of course, there will be numerous big fixes.
If you are a BNB holder, you do not need to anything. All exchanges, wallets and hardware wallets that support BNB will be upgrading their nodes so nothing has to be done from your side. However, if you are a full node operator, you will have to upgrade to v0.7.2.
You can download v0.7.2 from binance’s official github. If your node is fully synced, simply replace the previous version by changing config.toml and app.toml under home folder with latest versions. Restart it by typing this in terminal.
