Coinbase has announced on its blog that they are now accepting inbound transfers of Ethereum Classic. Their testing has gone according to plan and they will be launching Ethereum classic support on Coinbase Pro followed by consumer centric, Coinbase.com.

Launch will happen in in four stages: transfer-only, post-only, limit-only, and full-trading mode.

Transfer-only means that customers will be able to transfer Ethereum Classic beginning at 10am PT on Tuesday August 7th. You will not be able to place orders and no orders will be filled on these order books. Order books will be in transfer-only mode for 24–48 hours.

Post-only – customers can post limit orders but there will be no matches (completed orders). Order books will be in post-only mode for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Limit-only – limit orders will start matching but customers are unable to submit market orders. Order books will be in limit-only mode for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Full trading – usual trading where you can place all sorts of orders including limit, market, and stop orders.

Coinbase.com and Coinbase’s app will be adding Ethereum Classic only when sufficient liquidity is established. Coinbase expects this to occur approximately 1–2 weeks after trading begins on Coinbase Pro.

Coinbase has also added support for British Pound for the UK customers.

GDAX split into Coinbase Pro and Prime. Pro is only for the individual traders while Prime is only for the institutions. Keep in mind that Ethereum Classic is the first cryptocurrency asset added after a long time. More coins and tokens will follow in coming months.
