Bitfinex adds supports for Verge (XVG)

Bitfinex has announced support for Verge Currency (XVG) and Stellar Lumens (XLM) and the trading already started at 1130 UTC. You can trade Verge against BTC, ETH, USD, GBP, EURO & JPY. Margin trading and P2P funding will be enabled soon too. Verge is a popular decentralized crypto currency that is made with privacy in mind. It is said to be extremely fast, private and anonymous.

Stellar, a fork of Ripple, is an open source network that is build for financial products. It provides a decentralized way for banks and individuals to connect, which makes it excellent for cross border transactions. Interestingly, Stellar Lumens’s cofounder was also co-founder of Ripple. He left Ripple as he thought it was not decentralized enough.

For those who do not know, Verge is a fork of Dogecoin and was infact, called the Dogecoin Dark before getting renamed to Verge.

By default, the Verge is not private, but you can use its Wraith protocol to hide the transaction data so your transaction cannot be tracked in blockexplorer.

CEO of Bitfinex was thrilled about introducing these two new coins on their exchange,

We are very pleased to add to our selection of fiat offerings and to do our part in making cryptocurrencies more globally accessible. We are making a strong push for improved transparency and worldwide regulatory collaboration, and our ability to add support for these markets is a strong win on that front.
